(no subject)

I've had such a lovely, relaxing day. Budge and I bundled the dog into the car, made a brief pit stop at Liberty Bakery for coffee and cherry danish to go and then headed up to Queen Elizabeth Park with the dog for breakfast. (We forgot to take him out to pee first, so he was quite delighted when we actually arrived at the park, poor thing.)

We steered clear of the formal gardens for the most part because they really irritate me, and just ambled among the trees for a couple of hours, until it got too hot. At one point, we did accidentally stumble across the rose garden, and even though I don't like the fussy, anal layout, it was good to bury our faces in the flowers and sniff for a while. I said we should just hack a couple off and strap them to our faces like nosebags, but in the end we decided not.

After that, the library where I borrowed a great stack of books even though I still have a great stack from last week. But, dude, how could I resist "The Velocity of Honey and More Science of Everyday Life," or "Epics on Everest: Stories of Survival from the World's Highest Peak" (just think of the AU possibilities, or "London: The Biography"?

And now I've been closeted away in my room for the last couple of hours pretending to write, but not actually writing because, um. Well, because I'm not. It hasn't been an entirely unproductive evening though, because, hey! New icon, thanks to fuskeez!
