It turns out I have much thinner skin than I thought. Huh.

It also turns out that the story I'm working on is starting to feel belaboured and tedious.

Neither of these are good things.

Just wanted to give you a very belated thank you for the hugs. I had to take a few days away from lj to sort myself out, and I think I'm pretty much sorted now. I still have figure out how to toughen up, but I guess that just comes with practice.
