After four days of vicious flu and family drama, I needed a good long vacation, but I went back to work instead. Bad decision, I know, but it does pay the bills and, for whatever reason, there's never any shortage of bills to pay. There's an evil symmetry there, but I'm not going to think about it right now.

My supervisor wants to promote me. The good here is that I'd get paid for the extra hours I'm putting in anyway. The bad is that I'd actually feel obligated to put them in, whereas now I just do it because I'm an idiot. Decisions, decisions . . .

I left my umbrella on the Skytrain this morning, which meant that I had to stand in the pouring rain as I waited for my ride, which meant that by the time I got to work my pant legs were soaked from the knees down and my shoes were full of water. If I relapse into flu-ish misery, I'll only have myself to blame. And that's just not right. I'd much rather blame someone else.

Please tell me I haven't missed the SeSa sign up.

No, you haven't. We're all still wondering when sign up starts ;-).

Promotion is good! :-)

Well, that's a relief. I keep thinking I'll blink and I'll miss it.

Promotion means more money and more professional credibility, but I walked away from an even more senior position a couple of years ago because those things, while pretty darned nice, really aren't the most things for me any more. But more money = more potential for a laptop, so there you go. I'm definitely torn.

OMG, the rain is horrendous isn't it?! I was so happy my mom volunteered to get up and drive me to work on her day off because walking and waiting for the bus in this would have sucked big time :P

Although I do like the sound of it on my roof -- Lulls me right to sleep :)

Dude, I should have called your mom and begged for a ride! Where was my head? Oh, that's right, I was soaking it on the street corner . . .

I like the sound of rain when I'm sleeping, too. It's so perfectly soothing, and you can just snuggle under the quilt and feel all warm and dry-footed. Mmmm. I should really go to bed while I'm still awake enough to appreciate it. And before the house floats away.

Whee! The one bright spark in an otherwise grisly week.

I keep checking for you on AIM, but you keep not being there . . . Great sadness ensues.
