I seem to be riding a wave of inertia these last couple of weeks, lurking around the friends list and poking my head out to comment once in a while but never mustering quite enough energy to actually post anything myself.
I was going to do the writing meme, but got stuck on "My best story this year" and then again on the "Sexiest story" question, so, yeah. I figured a whole meme of "um, I don't know" would be more than a little irritating to slog through. Then I thought of doing a poll to find out which story other people thought was my best this year, but that just seemed horribly self-indulgent, so, no. Then there was "teh great slash meme", but I got distracted, and days passed, and the moment just didn't seem right anymore, you know?
To cheer myself up, I went to the hairdresser yesterday, and when she said, "Your hair is looking boring. It's too brown and dark and flat. Why don't we try some reddish highlights?" I thought, "Well, yes. Why don't we?" And so we did. I was expecting a few tasteful auburn streaks here and there, but no. I now have great hanks of cherry koolaid coloured hair mixed in with the brown. Um. Okay. Not quite the look I was going for, but change is good, right?
ETA: Thanks to
withdiamonds for the icon, which I didn't actually intend to use for this particular post but somehow did. It's surprisingly appropriate anyway.

Date: 2005-01-14 03:46 am (UTC)You could be talking about me right there. I think it's the season. It's a good thing we don't all feel that way. LJ would be pretty damn boring if left up to me.
Your hair sounds fabulous.
My favorite of your stories is Shove.

I'm beginning to think that my hair just might be fabulous! Everyone at work loved it, which was such a relief when I was expecting them to laugh hysterically.
You like "Shove" best? I think it's definitely got the best sex scene in it, and maybe the best Lance I've written. But this is where I get stuck. I tend to see all my stories in terms of their various elements, but have a really hard time seeing any of them as a whole.
