So, last night I bit down hard on a Werther's and broke one of my molars, which ouch! does not feels so good, but also? Now I have suffer the humiliation of explaining to my dentist that I broke a tooth eating CANDY. Plus, dentist, omg, pain! They never believe me when I tell them they need to inject me with enough anaesthetic to fell an elephant, nope, they never do, they wait until the sound of my screams drives people weeping in terror from the waiting room. Okay, I exaggerate slightly. But omg pain! And needles! And horrible smelling gloved fingers jamming cold metal instruments of torture around in my mouth!
And then they make me pay for it.
Sob.
And then they make me pay for it.

And that's the greatest injustice of all. We're terrified, poked and prodded and HURT...and it's definitely not the good pain...and then we have to pay THEM for it.
I'm sending lots of good vibes your way that it gets resolved easily and as painlessly as possible.

That's what we're doing with mine right now, too. He yanked out the broken piece, laid out the hideously expensive options and left me to ponder the situation.
Hmmm. The dental school at UBC. Not a bad idea. I should see how much cheaper that's likely to be -- quite a lot, I'd imagine. The hard part will be letting a student take seven times as long with the poking and prodding and HURTING. Yikes. Still. Cheap is always a nicer option. :)
Thanks for the good vibes. They worked -- it wasn't nearly as horrifying as I'd convinced myself it would be. :)
